Imagine a clinical trial system that seamlessly designs trials; monitors and continuously evaluates running trials alerting administrators of potential problems as they arise; performs analyses with no programming; and enables access and benefits patients, including those who are underserved. In the design phase, this system uses knowledge of previous trials, their patient populations, and current international drug development regulations to reduce both the number of patients required and the amount of time needed for the trial, all while being compliant in multiple countries. In the execution phase, investigators can query the system to monitor trial status and patient populations as data are received through interactive visualizations and tables. When needed, they can consult with a statistical expert to construct scientific hypotheses critical to understanding causal pathways with results provided in hours or even minutes rather than weeks or months. The system makes sure that the trial’s lead is aware of the administrative status of the trial including trial enrollment, site performance, and trial data integrity continuously identifying issues as they occur. If the trial is a success, decision makers deciding how or if to proceed on the drug-development journey are made aware of how likely the drug is to attain approval in future phase and its impact in the market. It provides a complete view of the trial, based on current trial telemetry and an archive of historical trials, achieving total trial intelligence (TTI).
